《東北實驗醫學雜志》是日本乃至世界上最古老、最負盛名的期刊之一。TJEM對來自世界各地的醫學科學的所有分支的原創文章開放。TJEM還包括防災科學領域，包括地震考古學。臨床報告，以前被歸類為病例報告，這大大提高了我們的醫學科學或實踐知識，也被接受。評論文章，給編輯的信，評論，新聞和觀點也將被考慮。所有類型的論文都旨在向TJEM的廣大讀者展示具有特殊新穎性、重要性和趣味性的新信息。

The Tohoku Journal of Experimental Medicine is one of the oldest and the most prestigious periodicals in Japan and the world. The TJEM is open to original articles in all branches of medical sciences from authors throughout the world. The TJEM also covers the fields of disaster-prevention science, including earthquake archeology. Clinical reports, formerly categorized as Case reports, which advance significantly our knowledge on medical sciences or practice, are also accepted. Review articles, Letters to the Editor, Commentary, and News and Views will also be considered. All types of papers are intended to present new information of exceptional novelty, importance and interest to the broad readership of the TJEM.
